Face to Face

Amplify training

What is the training?

For five days, girls' program providers, as well as those who are building (or hoping to build) programs for girls, get together. Through creative and interactive workshops, there will be opportunities to talk about programming for girls, as well as to build your skills in a variety of areas. The training includes workshops about:

  • Starting and sustaining your program
  • Designing a program
  • Developing facilitation skills
  • Workshop development, activities, resources and ideas for programming
  • Explaining the need for girls’ programs
  • Deepen analysis of issues we are addressing (violence prevention, self-esteem, healthy sexuality, anti-oppression, etc)

It also provides opportunities for:

  • Networking and connecting with girls' programs leaders from across the country
  • Sharing success stories and action strategies for girls' programs
  • Discussing your current projects and providing a space for support
  • Relaxing, creating & celebrating!

Who can take part?

Are you:

  • Part of a group or an organization that would like to start a program for girls?
  • Looking for new skills, resources, and tools for your current program?

When?

The Amplify training will be happening next fall. Check our website to register online in April 2010.

In the meantime?

The Amplify Training Across Distance workshops are designed to keep the discussions going about some of the topics from Amplify’s face-to-face training, to wherever you're located across Canada. Training across distance also provides training opportunities for network members unable to attend Amplify. If you couldn’t make it to the 2009 training, here’s a chance to catch up and forge ahead.
