March 8, 2010 - Flip the Script
Let's get critical about the panic! Everyone agrees that the contradictory messages floating around about the fate of girls and young women are enough to make anyone's head spin. On March 8th, Girls Action Foundation proposes we flip the script on the discourse and has created four Why Girls? resources to walk us through the maze.
Why Girls?
Media literacy and critical thinking reduce the negative impact of harmful media messages. These tools empower girls and young women to ask questions, deconstruct and analyze messages, and make choices about what they like and why.
To discover how and why girls and young women across Canada are taking back the media and how we can support them, check out Why Girls?: Why Media and Pop Culture?, the second in a series of four Why Girls? resources.
Leaders are all around us and they often go unnoticed. Leaders include the girls and young women who are asking questions, looking for answers, and stating opinions.
To discover what leadership means to young women across Canada and how we can support them, check out Why Girls?: Why Leadership?, the first in a series of four Why Girls? resources.
